Perspective: Zooming in instead of zooming out

Often times we're wading through the weeds of a troublesome situation. So immersed in the details that we can't see more than a foot in front of us. We keep trying to walk forward, pushing the tall grass aside as we pass through, looking for a path out into the clearing of clarity.

When we're in this space, it's often helpful to zoom out. Shift your perspective to a higher elevation in the clouds or on a nearby mountaintop. From here, it's easier to see the weeds, the depth of them, the distance through them, and the path to the clearing.

Today I'm struggling with the opposite. I see too many pieces of the journey. Too many items on the to-do list before getting to the clearing. It's daunting, draining, and depleting. There are SO MANY things to do before getting to the end goal. How will I ever make it there?

The view is gorgeous even with the work that still needs to be done.

Today is a good day to try zooming in instead of zooming out. Yes there's a lot of work to still be done, but there are things to celebrate. There are reasons to be grateful. So I will zoom in on those. Recognize the beauty in where I am now and what I've accomplished up until this point.

How does the saying go? "Remember the days you prayed for the things you have now."
